Reptilian Records was founded by in 1989 as an underground music shop located at 403 South Broadway in Baltimore, MD, USA. In 1993, Reptilian began releasing records from local bands at first, and eventually unheard and established bands nationwide. Reptilian has released a diverse catalog of punk rock, metal, noise rock, hardcore, grind, indie rock, and random strangeness. Several sub-labels and partnerships developed over the years, such as Adversary Recordings, Complete Distort, and Empirical Recordings, as well as the publishing house Scapegoat Publishing. The Reptilian Records store in Baltimore was shuttered in 2009 but the label is currently active, now based in Texas.
