Candid was originally an American jazz label from New York. Label Code: LC 0585 / LC 00585 It was founded in late 1960 as a subsidiary of Cadence Records and its first releases were issued in January 1961. The label was directed by Bob Altshuler, with Nat Hentoff as producer. In late 1961, the label came to its end. Nearly 3 decades later, Black Lion London-based owner acquired the label, started to reissue the original catalog as of 1989 and release new recordings. Around 2019, Candid was sold to the newly founded headed by . Distributed by ZYX Music in Germany from 1995.
