From 1972 to 1998, it was part of the same Mushroom Group that also included the Australian label Mushroom (of which a primary company version is Mushroom Records Pty. Ltd.), but was a separate legal and trading entity. Currently still owned by the Gudinski family in Melbourne, Victoria. The Mushroom label was purchased by Rupert Murdoch's Festival Records Pty. Ltd. in 1998 and sold to Warner Music Group in 2005 as part of the sale of Festival Mushroom Records.
