2026 update: Label under new management. Seelie Court is an archival reissue label specialising in rare, lost and previously unreleased recordings, with a particular focus on underground British artists from the 1960s-1970s. Genres covered include progressive rock, folk rock, psychedelia, hard rock, experimental music and other outsider and eccentric recordings. HISTORY Seelie Court holds permanent rights to a large catalogue of recordings, with ongoing releases from its archive. The label is also home to the copyrights in the Complete Works of Dark, often cited as one of the rarest private-press rock albums. Many Seelie Court titles originate from private press sources that have not been commercially issued prior to the label’s involvement. Audio restoration is undertaken by a small group of specialist engineers, including work carried out at Abbey Road Studios. Until 2022, pressings were manufactured on the original EMI presses in London - the same presses used for 1960s Beatles releases - after which production moved to alternative UK plants due to industry-wide delays. The main label originally operated as vinyl-only, with CD editions issued via its sub-label ‘Seelie Court Digital’. Seelie Court has collaborated with the US label Saturn Eye Records, which issues limited American editions, particularly on cassette and recycled 8-track. In 2025, the Seelie Court label was acquired by Nashville-based Good Time Records who will continue to release new archival titles and special edition reissues of the existing catalog.
