Independent punk / hardcore label, established and based in San Francisco, CA since 1998. The label was founded in Brooklyn, New York in 1987 by . Bands include UK Subs, No Use For a Name, Hogan's Heroes, Social Unrest, Anti-Flag, Samiam, Reagan Youth, and others. The New Red Archives catalog was acquired by Cleopatra Records in 2012. In 2013 New Red Archives became a division of Cleopatra Records. Many releases have been repeatedly repressed / reissued. The label design can sometimes be used to roughly date the pressings. The first 8-9 years of production, most LPs have one black label stating the label name and a design of a female figure with 7 dancing devil-type characters above and behind her. In 1995 this was changed to a white label stating the label name with 4-headed, 4-winged bird-type beast. Even later issues -- likely 2000s -- completely do away with the New Red Archives specific label on one side.
