Lucio Dalla

Italian singer-songwriter, musician and actor, born on March 4th, 1943 in Bologna, Italy, died March 1st, 2012 in Montreux, Switzerland. He began his music career in the 1960s as a member of various bands and as a solo artist. Dalla gained widespread recognition in the 1970s with the release of his album "Storie Di Casa Mia" which included the hit single "4 Marzo 1943" a tribute to the victims of a World War II bombing in his hometown. He also wrote music for films, such as "To Forget Venice" and "The Night of the Shooting Stars".
