NYC based record company founded by Cliff Chenfeld and Craig Balsam. Began life as the '70s Preservation Society in the mid-1990s, marketing 1970s-themed compilations on late night TV; soon grew into selling CD compilations of other genres on TV ads (i.e. 1980s hair-metal, soft rock, 1990s alternative) and reissues; has in recent years expanded into original material and the children's market (the wildly successful Kidz' Bop franchise). In 2018, it was acquired by the Concord Music Group. With the acquisition, Razor & Tie became a sublabel of Concord's Fearless Records.
