French Jazz label founded in 1937 by Hugues Panassié and Charles Delaunay. Label Code: LC 0362 / LC 00362 Also appears as "Swing Records" or "Disques Swing". Not to be confused with the label . The first label in the world entirely devoted to jazz recordings. recorded, pressed and distributed the records, with Delaunay (who designed the logo) and Panassié choosing the musicians and orchestras and directing the recordings. During the occupation, Swing released many records of French musicians playing American standards renamed to French to avoid censorship. After the Second World War, the brand again began publishing American artists, with American jazz in the spotlight. From 1951, Charles Delaunay entrusted the brand to , of which he was co-founder (along with ). In 1982 acquired the rights to use the brand on their label, and the catalogue fell under the control of in 1992 after it bought . The following catalogue numbers were not issued: SW.256 SW.257 SW.369
