T. Rex

Marc Bolan's record label. When Bolan's contract with Fly Records expired in 1971 his company Wizard Artists Limited did a licence deal with The Gramophone Co. Ltd. (later EMI Records Ltd.) to distribute T. Rex via a new label Bolan called The T. Rex Wax Co. When the first release arrived ([r=475931]) that had just been reduced to a simple "T. Rex" label. This was distributed worldwide by EMI with the exception of some European countries and the US. The EMI licence expired in the late 1970s. For unofficial releases please see T. Rex (2).
