Italian record label, established in 1977 by Oderso Rubini and based in Bologna. Initially active from 1979 to 1986–87, Italian Records primarily released 7"/12" singles and LP albums with New Wave, post-punk, synthpop/synthwave, italo-disco, hi-NRG, etc., and had a cassette division Demo City dedicated to experimental music. Also released some humorous bands and children's music. In March 2014, Expanded Music s.r.l. reactivated the label under the direction of Ricky Persi who stood behind in the 1990s. Italian Records, now distributed by Kompakt Distribution, produces both 12"/LP records and digital releases with new material and reissues from original artists.
