Launched on January 1, 1987 by Hikaru Kanematsu as a label for producer-driven records (then still uncommon in Japan), with Kazuo Zaitsu's album [m=1400453]. Though the label became associated with Shibuya-kei for a number of years due to its release of Pizzicato Five and several associated acts, Triad's roster has been predominantly rock bands through the label's first run up to 2007, and its subsequent revival a decade later.
