Main Japanese branch of Universal Music Group. as of January 2014 has served as president and CEO. The company's English name is officially stylized all-caps, as UNIVERSAL MUSIC K.K. Established as PolyGram Kabushiki Kaisha (most commonly shortened as , Japanese: ポリグラム株式会社) in April 1990, then renamed Universal Music K.K. in July 1999. It was converted from kabushiki kaisha (a common joint-stock company form in Japan) to godo gaisha (an equivalent to LLCs in the US) in January 2009; the conversion process was initiated in October 2008. Since then it is known as (English name officially stylized all-caps; Japanese: ユニバーサル ミュージック合同会社). NOTES on adding roles: 1) This is a company, not label.
