Mexican-American singer-songwriter and actress. She performs her own compositions as well as tapping into native Mesoamerican music of the Mixtec, Zapotec, Maya and Nahuatl cultures. She was born 9 September 1968 in Tlaxiaco, Oaxaca, Mexico.
