Born March 27, 1936 in Kalisz, died May 7, 2024 in Warszawa. Polish jazz saxophonist, composer, arranger, conductor, journalist and music critic. His nickname Ptaszyn translates as "Bird". Professional debut at the International Jazz Festival in Sopot () with the quintet of in 1956, performing as a clarinetist and saxophonist. Appeared with the International Newport Band at the in 1958. Later that year he joined the Jazz Believers and the group of . He led the Polish Radio Jazz Studio in the 1970's and as an arranger with them in the 1980s. Supervised music workshops in Chodzież from 1982.
