The Zoo was an American psychedelic blues/pop rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1966. They were signed to the Sunburst Records (4) label by producer Ed Cobb after he was invited to hear them play at their Alexander Hamilton High School auditorium. The Zoo recorded an album and a non-LP single in 1968, which both failed to chart. Nonetheless, the band opened for local groups including Spirit (8) and made some appearances on local southern California TV shows. With some lineup changes, the Zoo went on to become Joyful Noise (14) (a.k.a. Mad Dog (21)).
