Manchester post-punk group formed in 1979 by Martin Bramah and Una Baines (previously of The Fall). For much of 1981, they became Nico (3)'s backing band and support act, on a succession of UK dates, as well as a Dutch tour in the spring of 1982. Bramah and Baines parted ways in 1985, but Bramah would put a new band under the Blue Orchids moniker from 1990 to 1995, and then from 2003 on.
