The MIDI Janitor is an outsider electronics project conjured up by Jonathan Orr of St. Just Vigilantes. Using a MIDI controller he found in an East Van dumpster, Vancouverite Jonathan Orr makes luminous lo-fi jams reminiscent of early Tobacco and Boards of Canada. Orr’s project name, The MIDI Janitor, is a character he created. One that he imagines as an aging maintenance man creating beats in the privacy of his supply closet.
