Weimar is a German rock band from Thuringia. The band, which played under the name before 2021, made its first official appearance under the name Weimar with the single “Erwartet uns” in July 2021. Although the band was completely unknown, their first album made it to number 5 in the German album charts straight away. In February 2023, German journalists discovered that some of the previously anonymous musicians had been active in the Thuringian neo-Nazi scene in their youth. They are also said to have been active in the right-wing rock bands and . Following this research, the label removed all promotional material from their websites and canceled the announced tour. The band subsequently confirmed some of the allegations made against them, some of which date back 20 years. They also distanced themselves from their past. In 2023, the band re-released their debut album, this time without the help of a label, and once again made it to number 2 in the German charts. Their second album 2024 even made it to number 1 in the German album charts. Since then, the band has been organizing their concerts and releasing their albums/music videos on their own with the help of the .
