American R&B singer and songwriter, aka Mama Soul. Born on January 6, 1937, in Harlem, New York, USA. Died on February 16, 2004, in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Lived in London, England, between 1969 and 1974 and did a lot of session work for British bands then. She also released a solo album on Apple whilst living in the UK. Sister of Vy Higginsen
