Italian pop-disco music singer, born November 26, 1951 in Budapest, Hungary. Also an adult film hardcore model & actress, dancer, contemporary art painter and a politician. Ilona Staller marries Salvatore Mercuri, a Calabrian businessman, in the early 1970s but divorce shortly after. After acquiring Italian citizenship, she move to Rome and adopt the pseudonym Elena Mercury, starting her acting career. Although she took a small role in the 1970 film Incontro d'amore and briefly dated co-star Umberto Orsini, she struggled to find success, primarily working as a stripper and maid in television entertainment with only local recognition. In 1973, Ilona Staller meets photographer Riccardo Schicchi (her future partner & manager, from 1974 to 1988). The two of them soon host the late night sex-talk radio show "Voulez-vous coucher avec moi?" for "Radio Luna" in which they create her world famous persona " La Cicciolina " (which translates from the Italian as "the little, chubby, cuddly one") character.The two of them continue their collaboration bringing around Italy an erotic show where she artistically combine live erotica & music performances. She starts doing softcore films in 1975, and in 1983, Riccardo Schicchi & her co-found italian very first hardcore erotica film studio/agency Diva Futura. She is the first ever show-business celebrity to be elected as a national representative in italian parliament (1987-1992). She quits doing porn in 1989. Married to conceptual artist Jeff Koons from 1991 to 1994. In 1979 she was elected the leading candidate of the "Lista del Sole", Italy's first Green Party. In 1985 she switched to the Partito Radicale, campaigning against nuclear energy and NATO membership, for human rights, and against starvation anywhere in the world. She was elected to the Italian parliament in 1987, representing the Lazio district of Rome. She announced in September 1990, on the eve of the Gulf war, "I am available to make love with Saddam Hussein to achieve peace in the Middle East". She renewed the offer in October 2002, and in April 2006 made the same offer to Osama bin Laden. Staller married American sculptor Jeff Koons in 1991. Koons produced sculptures and paintings of Staller and him having sex which were exhibited as "Made in Heaven". Their marriage broke up in 1992, and their son Ludwig was born shortly afterwards.
