1950s-1960s soul and doo-wop vocal group from Plainfield, New Jersey, led by George Clinton. Formed in 1955 and modeled after Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers. Their biggest hit is "I Wanna Testify" (1967). Changed names to Funkadelic and Parliament in late 1960s, after a court case about another group (who won)
