Japanese shoegaze / dream pop duo, formed in 2012 in Kanagawa. Also known as Universe Nekoko in English. Also know as Uchu Nekoko and Uchuu Nekoko Nekoko roughly translates to Catgirl in English (ネコ is the katakana for neko, meaning cat. 子 is the kanji for ko, meaning child, however traditionally many female names ended with 子 as a societal implication for women to be childlike; in the context of the neko katakana, it can be interpreted as "girl"). Founding member Kо̄hei Tanabe left the group after Kano joined as a vocalist in 2017. Their artwork is illustrated by Tomoko Ōshima.
