Vernon Alphonsus Reid (born 22 August 1958 London, England) is an American guitarist, songwriter, composer, and bandleader. He started his musical career in the 1970's as a RnB musician, before he started to play for . In 1984, Vernon co-founded black Rock band . The band had big success until 1995, when the band split. In 2000, the band reunited. Reid had many side projects and worked a lot as session musician.In 1985, he co-founded the Black Rock Coalition, which supported coloured musicians in the Rock business.
