Algerian musician, founder of pioneer French Arabic rock band . His father was from Béjaïa, in the Kabyle area of Algeria while his mother was from Mascara, eastern Algeria. Rachid grew up in the suburbs of Lyon, in France and invented a sort of Rock & Raï music style. Born 18 September 1958 in Saint-Denis-du-Sig, Oran Province (present-day Sig, Mascara Province), Algeria. Died 12 September 2018 in Les Lilas, Île-de-France, France.
