Magazine were an English post-punk band from Manchester originally active from 1977 to 1981. The band was formed by and John McGeoch, after the former left in early 1977. Devoto had decided to create a more progressive and less "traditional" rock band. The band recorded 3 albums before McGeoch left to join Siouxsie & The Banshees. Magazine released one more album, before Devoto quit the band in 1981. The group reunited from 2009 to 2011, releasing one more album. McGeoch was not a part of the reunion, as he had passed away in 2004, aged 48.
