Necrophagist was a technical death metal band from Karlsruhe, Germany. It was founded in early 1992 by Muhammed Suiçmez, who was the vocalist and guitarist throughout the band's career. Suiçmez recorded the 1999 debut album almost entirely by himself, after which the more stable line-up was formed, resulting in the second and ultimately final studio album Epitaph in 2004. After this, the band went through further line-up changes, and following the last live appearance in 2010, the status of the band became unclear. After many years of speculation regarding the band's status and possible third studio album, drummer Romain Goulon confirmed the band's breakup in 2016. Final line-up: Muhammed Suiçmez - guitar / vocals (1992–2010) Sami Raatikainen - guitar (2006–2010) Stefan Fimmers - bass (2003–2010) Romain Goulon - drums (2008–2010) Former members: Guitars: Jan-Paul Herm (1992–1995) Matthias Holzapfel (1995–2000) Mario Petrovic (2000–2001) Björn Vollmer (2001–2002) Christian Münzner (2002–2006) Bass: Jochen Bittmann (1992–2001) Julien Laroche (2001–2003) Heiko Linzert (2003) Drums: Raphael Kempermann (1992–1995) Daniel Silva (1995–1998, 2001–2003) Slavek Foltyn (2000–2001) Hannes Grossmann (2003–2007) Marco Minnemann (2007–2008)
