Also called in English "Urbanite and Village Head" and "Poet and Village Head." Since the word urbanite and poet is same spelling in Korean. However, the Chinese characters on the back jacket of the original LP make it clear that the intended name is "urbanite", not "poet". Band's name was taken from So Young En's same named novel. It was a South Korean folk music group. They debuted in 1981, and their name is taken from Seo Young-eun's novel Poets and Village Chiefs (詩人和村長). They have hit songs such as "Gashinamu," "Love Diary," and "Scenery," and they became hits when they were used in commercial music. Among the songs, "Gashinamu" has been remade by many singers, and singer Jo Sung-mo's remake song was very popular.
