It is difficult to not call The Firm an 80s rock supergroup, as it contained four well known names from the 70s and 80s all of whom already had success before coming together. Lasting just two years The Firm was in effect a vehicle for Jimmy Page to get back on his feet following the demise of Led Zeppelin and also a way for Paul Rodgers to recover from his acrimonious split with Bad Company, With Tony Franklin and Chris Slade the group recorded two studio albums and had three tours, some of which were recorded and released in various forms. Both Page and Rodgers have suggested in subsequent interviews that The Firm was intended as a two album project but neither has not completely dismissed working together again. All four musicians have gone on to have success in their own right, so perhaps The Firm were an 80s rock supergroup.
