Japanese soul vocalist (born c. 1949) Rie Ida is known to have been influenced by Aretha Franklin as a female vocalist who sang soul music with a focus on U.S. military bases from age 20. They have formed Rie Ida & 42nd Street since 1976 and the debut album released in 1977, Street Talk is considered to be a legendary album of Japanese soul
