Cam'ron started his rap career in his late teens under the aegis of using the stage name as a part of the group . He released his most popular album "Come Home With Me" in 2002. Using the success of "Come Home With Me", Cam'ron managed to get The Diplomats the same record deal he had and launched his groups mainstream recording career, with members Juelz Santana getting the same record deal and Jim Jones going the independent KOCH route. Meanwhile, Cam'ron wanted to release his next album "Purple Haze" but it was delayed by over a year. As such, Cam'ron left Roc-A-Fella in 2005 and got a independent deal with Asylum Records. He released the album "Killa Season" on Asylum Records in 2006. Following this, a public embarrassment with a failed 50 Cent feud, Jim Jones declaring him musically irrelevant compared to him combined with his mothers health problems made Cam'ron take the entirety of 2007 off, only re-emerging to release a mixtape "Public Enemy #1" at the end of the year.
