Classical violinist of Korean heritage, born December 10, 1980 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. She was raised in Voorhees Township, New Jersey, USA. Chang was an archetypal child prodigy, accepted into the Juilliard School at the age of 5, making her debut with at 8 and recording her first album aged 10. Chang was Gramophone magazine's 'Young Artist of the Year' in 1993 and has received the Avery Fisher Prize and the Hollywood Bowl's Hall of Fame award.
