Robert Frazier, known professionally as Chill Rob G, was born on May 15, 1964, in Jersey City, New Jersey. He was an original member of The Flavor Unit, a hip-hop collective that included artists like The 45 King, Queen Latifah, and Lakim Shabazz. In 1989, he released his debut album, "Ride the Rhythm," under Wild Pitch Records, which was later recognized by The Source magazine as one of the 100 Best Rap Albums. Chill Rob G's track "The Power" gained international attention when the German group Snap! used his vocals without authorization in their version of the song, leading to legal disputes over the track's rights. After a period away from the music scene, he returned in 2022 with the album "Empire Crumbles," marking a new chapter in his career. Chill Rob G remains a respected figure in hip-hop, known for his distinctive voice and contributions to the genre's golden era.
