The band is founded in November 1982 by , who is a vocalist and composer in the band. In 1984, the band releases its debut album entitled Banda i Wanda, which includes the hits: "Fabryka marzeń", "Stylowe ramy", "Chcę zapomnieć", "Nie będę Julią" and "Hi-Fi". In 1986, Kwietniewska disbanded the band and began her solo career in the late eighties. The band was reactivated twice in 1993 and lasted only two years, and then in 2000. The name was modified to Wanda i Banda.
