German jazz trombonist, born 7 November 1972 in Braunschweig, Germany. Nils began his musical studies at Municipal Conservatory of Braunschweig and at age twelve, joined , the German Federal Jazz Orchestra, in 1989. After winning several awards for his solo trombone performances, he received a scholarship to attend The New School in NYC where he studied the subjects trombone, composition and music arrangement in 1992. Since that time, Nils has been awarded several jazz prizes and scholarships for his performances, toured abroad and has released material on a regular basis as a bandleader and co-leader of several groups and ensembles which include: Nils Wogram Quintet with: Kenny Werner, Brad Schoeppach, Doug Weiss and Owen Howard Nils Wogram Quartet with: Simon Nabatov, Dietmar Fuhr/Nick Thys and Jochen Rückert. Quartet with: Hayden Chisholm, Matt Penman and Jochen Rückert. Nostalgia Trio with: Florian Ross and Dejan Terzic Nils Wogram Septet with: Claudio Puntin, Tilman Ehrhorn, Stephan Meinberg, Steffen Schorrn, Frank Speer and John Schröder. Duo with: Simon Nabatov.
