K-Solo, real name Kevin Madison, was born on April 17, 1968, in Brentwood, Long Island, New York. He is an American rapper known for his distinctive lyrical style that incorporates spelling out words within his rhymes. As an original member of the Hit Squad (2)—a collective formed by EPMD—K-Solo collaborated with artists such as Redman, Das EFX, and Keith Murray. He gained prominence with his 1990 debut album Tell the World My Name, featuring the hit single “Spellbound.” His follow-up album, Time's Up, was released in 1992. In the mid-1990s, K-Solo signed with Death Row Records (2); however, his recorded material with the label was never officially released. Throughout his career, he has been involved in notable feuds, including a longstanding dispute with DMX over the origins of the “Spellbound” concept.
