Knocker Jungle

British folk duo active in early 70s. Behind the name Knocker Jungle (originally Mandragon) are two young musicians/songwriters, Tony Coop and Keith Jones. They recorded their only one album with the help of Dave Mattacks on drums (Fairport Convention), Dave Pegg on bass (Fairport Convention), Phil Pickett on keyboards (of Sailor fame ; not to confuse with Philip Picket from Albion Band), and with no less than Tony Cox producing (at that time of Magna Carta and Tir Na Nog, besides he also had produced records later from Family, Caravan, Gringo, Françoise Hardy). The album was issued in 1970 by Ember Records but due to poor sales it quickly fell into oblivion. The music is folk with bluesy and psych nuances similar to Donovan, Nick Drake or Dylan. As time went by, the album was rediscovered and reissued with four bonus tracks from the same sessions in 2008. After the album, Jones and Coop disappeared completely.
