Son of Jacques Loussier, he spent his childhood in the Miraval Studios where The Pink Floyd, Sade or the Cure were recording. He studied piano at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, then at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris. As an avid film fan, he composed the theme music for an Akaï advertising campaign in UK at the age of 13 ! His composition was recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra. From 1994 onwards, he composed for film (Snowboarder, L'étoile du soldat) and advertising (Fendi, Orangina, Armani, Peugeot, Pepsi). He created a song for the launching of Allure Homme perfume by Chanel. The CD was encarted in GQ Magazine. After a serie of concerts xith the singer Dani, he produced with her a cover version of the Carmen anthem L'amour est un oiseau rebelle. Today, Jean Baptiste is also devoting himself to composing personal like the Back To Bach album with Jody Sternberg (2025).)
