French electro-pop band based in Toulouse and Berlin, comprised of Thierry Moreira (aka Chiquinho) on vocals/keys, Henning Specht (aka Monsieur Club) on vocals/chords/drums, and Nicolas Sentenac (aka Sentos Ratos) on guitar/bass . Hypnolove is an electro-pop trio from Toulouse, a city in southern France. Nicolas was friends with Thierry's brother, and studied sound engineering with Henning. Thierry told Nicolas that he wanted to start a band, and the three of them decided to give it a go. Their debut house EP, signed under the name "Hypno-love", was released in 1998 on the short-lived Confusion (3) Records, a label created specificaly to release their first 12". The release contained the original version of their song Eurolove, that was unearthed & reworked, five years later, by Jacques Lu Cont (aka Stuart Price of Les Rythmes Digitales) for his 2003 Fabric mix. A new version appeared on Hypnolove's debut album in 2006. The group continued to produce music and finally signed to the Record Makers label after having being selected by DJs worldwide and having appeared on multiple compilation albums throughout the years. Their debut album, Eurolove, which included their hit song "Mademoiselle," published in 2006, demonstrated a more mature approach to songwriting, expanding beyond their filtered house beginnings, introducing latin sonorities, with lyrics in French, Portuguese, German, Italian, and English, while retaining their strong electronic, italo disco, '80s pop, and new wave influences.
