Indian tabla player, composer and actor Born: 9th March 1951 Bombay, India Died: 15th December 2024 San Francisco, California, USA Grammy winning virtuoso tabla player who played with many Indian artists and western jazz musicians in the 'global fusion' scene. He got his break filling in as tabla player for his father, at his suggestion, for a concert in New York for Indian sitar player in 1969 and continued working for him thereafter. Has collaborated with several artists outside India such as , and . Has had a career as film actor and acted alongside in the film 'Heat and Dust', for which he was associate music director. Son of and husband of Antonia Minnecola.
