Rakim Allah (born January 28, 1968, Long Island, New York, United States) is a rapper from Wyandanch, New York. He first gained recognition in the late 1980s as one half of the hip-hop duo Eric B. & Rakim. The duo released four studio albums between 1987 and 1992, including Paid In Full, before disbanding in 1992. After a hiatus from recording, Rakim resumed his career as a solo artist with the release of The 18th Letter in 1997. He has continued to release music intermittently since then.
