Agnes Strange, a hard rock/blues band based in Southampton, Hampshire, England. Formed in 1972 by John Westwood (lead guitar, vocals), Alan Green (bass, vocals) and Dave Rodwell (drums, vocals). In 1974, they were managed by the Dick James Organization and moved to London. They were signed by Pye Records, who assigned them to the new BirdsNest label, which was born from an agreement with a chain of pubs bearing the same name as the label and whose records were sold only in the chain's pubs, owned by the Watney brewery. Their album Strange Flavour was produced by Dave Travis, who also contributed to a couple of tracks. They also recorded another album, but it wasn't released until the 1990s. Strange Flavour was reissued in 1976 by RCA Germany (with one missing track) and again in 1996 by Green Tree Records on CD (with three previously unreleased tracks). Re-released by Rev-Ola Records in 2007. The album, titled Theme for a Dream or Dust in the Sunlight, whose first release date is uncertain (sources are conflicting), contains material presumably recorded between 1972 and 1974, consisting of unreleased production and demos.
