US based animatronic robot band, created and manufactured by inventor Aaron Fechter, that played in Showbiz Pizza Place from 1980 to 1990, and in various Showbiz Pizza Place locations between 1990-1992. Beginning in 1991, due to Showbiz severing ties with Fechter, all operating units were converted to Munch's Make Believe Band, as part of all Showbiz Pizza locations being converted to Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza (now Chuck E. Cheese). This conversion also re-ordered the stage and removed Earl Schmerle and Billy Bob Brockali's animatronic's entirely. As of 2025, all but two official converted Munch's Make Believe Band units have been removed from Chuck E. Cheese locations through various remodels. Despite this, various unconverted units of the band have surfaced over the years and Fechter currently runs his own restored unit in Orlando, Florida. The band's recordings were usually provided by The Tropical Cleaners, AKA. Skitzo Noize, Fechter's own group at the time. A total of 13 singles and 2 albums/tapes were released between 1981-87, with the bulk of the releases occurring between 1981-84. The band featured various guest characters throughout the 1980s, including Uncle Klunk, Santa Claus, and Yogi Bear (2) and Boo Boo (7). A new single was recorded/released in 2011 following renewed interest in the band via the internet.
