White Fence

The solo/project name of musician Tim Presley (primarily vocals, guitar, and multi-instrumentalist), who began recording and releasing music under that moniker. White Fence effectively formed/started in the late 2000s, with Presley recording material in his apartment while still in the band Darker My Love. The debut self-titled album White Fence was recorded between 2008 and 2009 and released in 2010 (on Make-A-Mess Records), marking its public emergence. Some sources describe the project as beginning around 2009–2010. It originated in California, United States. Presley (originally from Los Angeles area, with earlier ties there) was based in San Francisco during much of the project’s early development and nurturing—many accounts associate White Fence strongly with the San Francisco scene (e.g., live recordings there, collaborations in the Bay Area psych/garage rock community). He has also lived in Los Angeles, and the project has had lineups tied to both cities over time.
