Choir formed in 1963 by John Eliot Gardiner to explore the Baroque repertoire. Gardiner stepped down in 2024. The formal name of the organization is Monteverdi Choir and Orchestras, which includes the Choir and The English Baroque Soloists for the Baroque repertoire, and the Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique for the Classical and Romantic repertoire.
