Rollins Band was an American rock band led by singer and songwriter Henry Rollins. The group started when Rollins and his friend Chris Haskett (guitar) teamed up with Gone (2)'s rhythm section; Sim Cain (drums) and Andrew Weiss (bass). The band released the albums "Life Time" (1988), "Hard Volume" (1989) and "The End of Silence" (1992), before Weiss departed and was replaced by Melvin Gibbs. They put out their fourth album "Weight" in 1994, which included the hit "Liar". Rollins got involved in a lawsuit with his former label, which was another factor in delaying the recording of the band's next album. Finally "Come In and Burn" was released in 1997, but by the end of the year the group had disbanded. In 1998, Rollins got together with local LA group Mother Superior to try ideas on new songs. When it came time to tour, Rollins was advised to keep the "Rollins Band" name for the new group too. They went on to release the albums "Get Some Go Again" (2000), "Nice" (2001) and "A Nicer Shade of Red" (2001), before disbanding in 2003. The Rollins / Haskett / Gibbs / Cain line-up also did a brief reunion in 2006.
