Their breakthrough came with the release of their 1999 debut album Soundpieces: Da Antidote! on Stones Throw Records, a project that showcased Madlib’s signature off-kilter production and the group’s unique chemistry. While Lootpack never released another full-length album, its members remained highly active. Wildchild and DJ Romes also pursued solo projects, maintaining the group’s underground legacy. Lootpack is regarded as a key influence in the underground hip-hop scene, helping to establish Stones Throw Records as a major force in independent rap.
