American gospel, blues and jazz singer and guitarist (Mar. 20, 1915, Cotton Plant, AR - Oct. 08, 1973, Philadelphia, PA). Daughter of gospel singer and evangelist Katie Bell Nubin Worked with: Lucky Millinder, Cab Calloway, Benny Goodman, "Dixie Hummingbirds", Sammy Price and then taking on her solo career. Collaborated with gospel singer Marie Knight
