Wolf is a heavy metal band from Carlisle, Cumbria, North West England, England, United Kingdom, that was formed in 1977 under the name Leviathan. In 1980, the band changed its name to Black Axe and finally in 1981 to Wolf after signing to Chrysalis. The band was part of the NWOBHM movement. Not to be confused with Wolf (36), another NWOBHM band from Cheshire, Wolf (3) from Sweden, Wolf (45) from Japan, Wolf (77) from France, Wolf (137) from Chile and Wolf from Australia.
